The Armed Forces Covenant is a commitment that recognizes and acknowledges the importance of treating those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, as well as their families, with fairness and respect in the communities, economy, and society they dedicate their lives to. It is based on two fundamental principles:

  1. Individuals who serve in the Armed Forces, whether they are Regular or Reserve personnel, those who have served in the past, and their families, should not face any disadvantages compared to other citizens when it comes to accessing public and commercial services.
  2. Certain cases require special consideration, particularly for those who have made significant sacrifices such as the injured and the bereaved.

The Covenant aims to ensure that members of the Armed Forces community have equal access to government and commercial services and products, just like any other citizen. This support encompasses various areas, including healthcare, education and childcare, housing and accommodation, employment, and financial services.

The Covenant Legal Duty is a legal requirement imposed on specific public entities (such as local authorities, governing bodies of select state schools, various NHS bodies, and other organizations) to consider and uphold the principles outlined in the Armed Forces Covenant while performing certain responsibilities related to healthcare, education, and housing. This obligation has been effective since November 2022.

Leading Talent is committed to upholding the fundamental principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, encompassing the following key tenets:

  1. Ensuring that no individual within the Armed Forces Community encounters any form of disadvantage when accessing public and commercial services, thereby guaranteeing equal treatment for all citizens.
  2. Recognizing that certain situations may warrant special consideration, particularly for those who have been injured or bereaved, thereby acknowledging the need for tailored support and assistance.

Leading Talent, deeply appreciate the contributions made by serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and military families to our organization. We are committed to upholding the values of the Armed Forces Covenant through various means, including:

  1. Promoting our armed forces-friendly stance externally by featuring advertisements on our website and other social media platforms.
  2. Displaying the official Armed Forces Covenant logo prominently on our website.
  3. Consistently sharing updates on our support for the Armed Forces on LinkedIn and our website.

Leading Talent is dedicated to providing support for service personnel, spouses, and partners in various ways:

  1. We are committed to ensuring that everyone, regardless of their military background or lack thereof, has access to the best opportunities available.
  2. We understand the importance of flexibility when it comes to granting leave for service personnel, spouses, and partners. Whether it is before, during, or after a partner’s deployment, we strive to accommodate their needs.
  3. We fully support employees who choose to be members of the Reserve forces. We are willing to make arrangements to accommodate their training and deployment whenever possible.
  4. We also recognize the valuable contribution of our employees who are volunteer leaders in military cadet organizations. To show our appreciation, we grant them additional leave to attend annual training camps and courses.

We are committed to actively engaging in Armed Forces Day/Week, Reserve Day, Poppy Appeal, and Remembrance activities. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a discount to members of the Armed Forces Community as it is not feasible within our business model. Nevertheless, we will strongly encourage our clients to join us in signing the pledge of the Armed Forces Covenant whenever possible.

Our dedication to these initiatives will be communicated through our promotional materials and/or on our official website, outlining our strategies for upholding them and welcoming input from both the Service community and our customers on our progress.
